Five Days of Tokyo and Mount Fuji in Spring
Discover a softer side of Tokyo, then follow the season toward Mount Fuji. This five-day private cherry blossom tour pairs riverside walks and celebrated gardens with lakeside scenery and the clear springs of Oshino Hakkai. This is a proposed private itinerary. Hotels, transportation, meals, admissions, and experiences are confirmed in your written quotation. Cherry blossom timing and Mount Fuji views depend on natural conditions.
Your Day-by-Day Journey
Day 1 – Arrival in Tokyo & Evening Sakura Walk
Upon arrival at Tokyo Haneda or Narita Airport, your private driver will transfer you to your centrally located hotel.
After check-in and some rest, begin your spring adventure with an evening walk through Chidorigafuchi Park, one of Tokyo’s most picturesque cherry blossom sites. The illuminated trees along the moat of the Imperial Palace create a magical atmosphere, perfect for your first taste of Japan’s hanami (flower viewing) tradition.
Optional: Enjoy a welcome dinner featuring sakura-themed dishes or sweets at a local restaurant.
Overnight: Tokyo
Day 2 – Tokyo’s Iconic Landmarks & Urban Blossoms
After breakfast, embark on a full-day guided tour of Tokyo’s classic sights with a spring twist.
Optional evening: Meguro River night illumination, where sakura petals reflect in the glowing canal.
Day 3 – Mount Fuji, Lake Kawaguchi & Oshino Hakkai Cherry Blossoms
Leave Tokyo for a full-day excursion to the Fuji Five Lakes region, home to some of Japan’s most stunning cherry blossom scenery.
Begin at Arakurayama Sengen Park, where thousands of cherry trees frame the five-story Chureito Pagoda with majestic views of Mount Fuji in the background — one of Japan’s most iconic photo spots. Continue to Lake Kawaguchi, the most picturesque of the Fuji Five Lakes, and enjoy a peaceful stroll along Oishi Park, where pink petals reflect on the lake’s surface against the snow-capped peak.
Next, visit Oshino Hakkai, a charming traditional village famous for its eight crystal-clear ponds fed by the aquifer waters of Mount Fuji. Designated a Natural Monument of Japan and part of the Mount Fuji World Heritage Site, Oshino Hakkai offers breathtaking reflections of Fuji, thatched-roof houses, and cherry trees in full bloom — a perfect blend of nature, culture, and spring beauty.
If time permits, stop by a local craft village or sample sakura-flavored ice cream before returning to Tokyo in the evening.
Day 4 – Tokyo Culture & Cherry Blossom Cruise
Start your day at Tsukiji Outer Market, sampling seasonal treats and experiencing Tokyo’s vibrant food scene. Continue to Hamarikyu Gardenss, a former feudal lord’s residence where you can enjoy tea in a lakeside pavilion surrounded by blooming trees.
In the afternoon, take a 25-minute Sumida River or Chidorigafuchi Boat Cruise, offering stunning views of sakura branches arching gracefully over the water.
The evening is free for shopping or a farewell dinner under illuminated cherry trees in Roppongi Hills or Tokyo Midtown.
Day 5 – Farewell to Japan’s Blossoms
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then spend your final morning exploring one last cherry-lined walkway — perhaps Koishikawa Korakuen Garden, a hidden gem blending Edo-period elegance and spring beauty.
Your private driver will then transfer you to the airport for your onward flight, carrying unforgettable memories of Japan’s cherry blossom season.
